TdX provides solid and verifiable evidence of the sustainability of its credits, as the entire process is in accordance with the approved methodology VM0015, and with CCB and VCS standards. The baseline scenario, that is, in the absence of the project, shows that the entire project area would be deforested by 2032, giving way to pasture areas, driven by economic attractiveness and lack of enforcement of legislation. TdX also meets the additionality criterion because, given the context of unplanned deforestation in the region, we can conclude that the owners of the project areas need to have resources to protect and monitor their forest reserves, so that they are not taken over by invaders and land grabbers, who would carry out deforestation, clear the land with fire and herd livestock, in order to consolidate their occupation of the land.
The municipality of Altamira is tenth in number of cattle in Brazil, and the neighboring municipality, São Félix do Xingu, the first. Furthermore, to prevent deforestation leakage due to the displacement of activities avoided in the project baseline, TdX will continuously monitor areas neighboring the project and seek new management strategies and land use planning with regional stakeholders.

In the TdX project, forests will not be deforested or managed, therefore, there will be many benefits for biodiversity that will not suffer from habitat loss or even human pressure, whether through the implementation of economic activities or hunting, for example. As for the community, in addition to the project area protecting the sources of the Caboclo stream (a stream used for subsistence fishing and recreation by the population), several activities will also be carried out focusing on improving the living conditions of the community, which involve everything from supply of hospital materials, for example, training through courses and lectures.

There are no other paid activities in the project area.
